Glossary of terms

Aura - the field of energy that surrounds our bodies and channels energy to it through chakras.

Clairaudience - the ability to hear the Spirit World.

Clairsentience - the ability to sense the Spirit World.

Clairvoyance - the ability to see the Spirit World.

Communication - contact between the physical world and the Spirit World.

Ectoplasm - a substance that emanates from a medium and forms the spirit face of a spirit person wishing to communicate.

Entity - a spirit person.

Guardian Angel - a spirit person who particularly looks after a living person.

Medium - a person who has the ability to receive messages from the Spirit World and who can act as a go-between from the physical world and the Spiritual World.

Mental Phenomena - When the medium alone sees or hears the spirit message and passes it on to the intended recipient.

Passing - a term used instead of the word 'dying', to indicate the movement from the physical world to the Spirit World.

Physical Phenomena - when the medium uses ectoplasm to form the face or voice of the spirit person wishing to communicate. In these cases, everyone present can experience the phenomena.

Psychic - another way of describing someone who has medium abilities and who can either see or hear the Spirit World.

Séance - A meeting where people try to communicate with people from the Spirit World.

Spirit - the part of a person which is not physical but is his essence.

Spirit Guide - a spirit person who is 'assigned' to a physical person for the purpose of offering guidance.

Spiritual Healing - Using the knowledge and powers from the Spirit World to help a person's mind, body or spirit recover from any kind of illness.

Spiritualism - the belief that there is a Spirit World and that living people can communicate with the spirit people through a medium.
